Shortage of Materials Slowing Growth of Construction
Posted by Builders's Buddy on 15th Feb 2021
With many contractors voicing concern over the current shortage of materials could this halt the growth of the Construction Industry?
Why is there an issue?
Well there are multiple reasons but we believe these are the main three:
1) Not surprisingly Covid-19. The pandemic has forced all suppliers and manufacturers all over
the world to re-evaluate how they work. In many cases this has meant a reduction of labour
so output is down.
2) The uncertainty around Brexit and how goods will be transported within the EU.
3) Demand. The construction Industry is one of only a few industries that are being
encouraged to continue to trade at present and in general business is booming.
What are we doing about it?
Certain products such as dust masks have been in short supply since the start of the pandemic and
we have worked tirelessly to ensure consistency within our supply chain. We continue to invest
heavily in our stock to ensure we have the goods you need when you need them.
There are still many issues effecting the supply of products but by increasing our stock levels,
monitoring our customer needs and keeping good communication with our suppliers we are as
confident as ever that we can continue to offer a reliable first class service to our customers.
