Have you started planning for the Coronation?

The UK will mark the Coronation of The King and The Queen Consort with a 3-day bank holiday weekend from Saturday, 6 May 2023-Monday, 8 May 2023.

Many councils across England have said they will relax the rules on public events and gathering on this weekend to allow friends & neighbours to hold gatherings and street parties to celebrate.

Whilst this sounds like a great idea, there are a number of things to remember and organising in advance will be key.

If you haven’t already registered your event with your you local council the time to do it is NOW as most councils will require prior notification, this especially applies if you are planning any type of road closure, parking restrictions or you are planning on restricting public access.

Whilst most councils are planning a relaxed approach, it is important for the event organisers to carry out a risk assessment, this needs to cover the basics of public safety and access.
